A new glitch in Destiny 2’s Salvation’s Edge raid lets players bypass mechanics and instantly enter the DPS phase for the final boss, The Witness.
Destiny 2’s The Final Shape expansion has been out for nearly two months now, bringing with it one of the toughest raids in the game’s history: Salvation’s Edge. In this raid, players get to face the main antagonist of Destiny’s Light and Darkness saga, The Witness.
Recently, players discovered a glitch in this raid that allows them to bypass all encounter mechanics and directly enter the DPS phase for the raid’s final boss, The Witness.
This exploit provides a significant advantage by enabling players to skip the challenging mechanics usually required to reach the DPS phase.
Destiny 2 Salvation’s Edge The Witness Glitch
The glitch revolves around shooting all six glyphs located on the chest of The Witness and instantly wiping the player. To do this glitch, players need to use the Two-Tailed Fox exotic rocket launcher.
The process is simple: aim at one of the glyphs, let the first rocket shoot at the glyph, and allow the second rocket to hit the ground, which will wipe the player.
If done correctly, players will see a text appear on the bottom left corner of the screen saying, “Subjugators arrive to defend the Witness.” This process needs to be repeated six times to destroy all six glyphs. After successfully destroying all the glyphs, players will notice The Witness changing its animation to the DPS phase, signaling that the glitch has been executed correctly.
Once all six glyphs are destroyed, players can rally at the raid banner and start the encounter. Jump onto the glowing DPS plate at the center will trigger the DPS phase, allowing players to begin damaging The Witness without having to go through the usual mechanics of the encounter.
This glitch was first discovered and showcased by YouTuber Mouse茂斯, who demonstrated the steps in a video. While this glitch provides an easier way to tackle The Witness, it remains to be seen how long it will remain in the game before Bungie addresses and fixes it.

Apart from this, Salvation’s Edge also features a fun easter featuring Paul McCartney’s “Hope For The Future” song that was originally released nearly a decade ago. If you want to learn more about it, check out our article here.
