Big archetype passes are coming in Renegades: Fusion Rifle charge times change, pellet Shotguns get PvE buffs, Snipers flinch less, and Rocket Pulse Rifles see ammo cuts.
Bungie’s weapon-archetype pass for Renegades touches nearly everything, from Sidearms and SMGs to Fusions, Shotguns, Bows, Snipers, and Rocket Pulse Rifles.
Destiny 2 Renegades Weapon Archetype changes
- Sidearms (PC comfort): reduced reticle-hide time on several long-barreled models like Heliocentric, Faustus Decline, and Compact Defender to make semi-autos less obtrusive on M&K.
- SMGs (controller comfort): +10% stability on controller; Lightweight SMGs get a small ADS falloff bump (1.40→1.45).
- Rapid-Fire Pulse Rifles: base damage nudged from 15 to 15.5 (crits 27.75→27.9) to improve TTK breakpoints in PvE and PvP.
- Bows: draw-time curves are more forgiving; Recurve and Compound strings see specific reductions across the board.
- Fusion Rifles: charge times rescaled—Rapid-Fires 500→533, Adaptives/Aggressives 660→667, Precisions 780→800, High Impacts 960→967—with PvE damage scalars raised (most frames now +6.7%; High Impacts +15%).
- Pellet Shotguns (PvE buffs): Rapid-Fires gain a small PvE scalar plus bigger bricks; Lightweights and Precision Pellets get PvE damage bumps; Aggressives see pellet damage and PvE scalar increases.
- Slug Shotguns (PvP restraint): aim-assist cone trimmed and player damage reduced on Pinpoints, with falloff slightly extended; Heavy-Burst Slugs get more falloff and bigger bricks; a Rapid-Fire Slug RPM bug is fixed.
- Sniper Rifles: incoming flinch from players reduced by 40% to feel less jarring while retaining counter-play.
- Rocket Pulse Rifles: still strong but too ubiquitous; reserves cut 18→14 and enhanced brick gain lowered slightly to curb uptime.
- Swords: empty swings do less, no longer scale with melee buffs; odd interactions like Ascension triggering sword perks are fixed.

This pass should open up more loadout diversity as Destiny 2 heads into its Star Wars-themed Renegades expansion on December 2.
